The present invention relates to methods and devices for manipulating computer-executable source code. Interdependent functional areas are decoupled into components comprising independent service calls. Dependency graphs can be used. The method defines component interfaces, the definitions of the implementations of the interfaces are entered during the construction of the binary interfaces. The exchange of interface implementations can be governed by predefined propagation rules. Continuous integration mechanisms are described, as well as the use of isolated containers.
