A method for calculating an inner diameter of a restriction orifice plate under known operating conditions and pressure drop requirements, comprising the following steps: using an inner diameter of a pipe at 20°C, a linear expansion coefficient of a material used to fabricate the pipe and an operating temperature to calculate an inner diameter of the pipe at the operating temperature; using a mass flow amount, a kinematic viscosity of a medium in an operating state and the inner diameter of the pipe at the operating temperature to calculate a pipe Reynolds number; applying an orifice plate outflow coefficient formula to calculate an outflow coefficient according to a diameter ratio and the pipe Reynolds number; using a differential pressure and an absolute operating pressure at the upstream of the orifice plate to calculate a ratio of pressures at downstream and upstream end faces of the orifice plate; and using the inner diameter of the pipe at the operating temperature and the diameter ratio to calculate an inner diameter of the orifice plate at the operating temperature.
