A method of operating environment education software to which augmented reality is applied is disclosed. An operating method of environmental education software according to one of various embodiments of the present invention includes: acquiring a real image through an image acquisition unit of a user terminal; providing a user with guide information on a marker to be recognized in a specific step; determining whether a marker to be recognized in a specific step of the environmental education software operation process matches a marker recognized in an image acquired through an image acquisition unit of the user terminal; if it is determined that the marker recognized in the image matches the marker to be recognized in the specific step, performing an event related to the recognized marker on the user terminal; providing qualification information for acquiring a specific ability through the user terminal based on the progress stage of the event; determining whether to provide a quiz test event based on the overall status of the acquired abilities; and determining whether to terminate the environmental education software based on the result of the quiz event.
