To provide methods for discriminating and/or identifying Bacillus cereus species and close species thereof rapidly and accurately, and to provide biomarker sets used for the same.SOLUTION: Using as a biomarker at least one of ribosomal proteins L33, L30, L29, S18, L31, S20 and L22 of Bacillus cereus species and close species thereof, these species are discriminated rapidly and accurately by (a) analyzing by MALDI-TOF MS method to obtain mass spectrum including analysis values as regards a biomarker, and by (b) comparing the analysis value of the biomarker with the known analysis value of the biomarker previously obtained from Bacillus cereus species and close species thereof to discriminate between the species which gives a known analysis value different from the analysis value and the species of analysis subject. Identification of these species can also be performed using this discrimination method.SELECTED DRAWING: None
