Carbon-bonded or carbon-containing filters for metal melt filtration, which in contact with aluminum melt form collectors made of Al2O3 and / or C, on which endogenous and exogenous inclusions can be deposited and these loaded collectors remain in the functional macropores of the filter ceramic or can be deposited on the filter surface . An in situ layer consisting of Al2O3 and C is also created on the filter surface and supports the filtration.
