The present invention belongs to the field of geotechnical engineering safety evaluation and instability risk quantification, and particularly relates to a method for evaluating an instability area amplification effect of a foundation pit excavation slope. The method comprises: when no seismic action is present, reducing original soil layer mechanical parameters to enable the minimum safety coefficient to be Fi<1; adjusting a horizontal earthquake acceleration value, such that the safety coefficient of a slope under the original soil layer mechanical parameters is Fi; simulating displacement fields in the previous two steps by using a smooth particle fluid dynamics method; giving a critical value, and separately counting slope sliding areas of the two conditions; calculating an amplification value ξi between the strength reduction effect and the seismic action effect; updating the reduction coefficient and the previous earthquake acceleration value, reducing the Fi, and repeating the above operation; and fitting all horizontal earthquake acceleration values and amplification values to obtain a change curve of the instability area of the foundation pit excavation slope under the seismic action, thereby obtaining an amplification effect.
