The present invention relates to an extrusion head (1) for continuous fused filament fabrication, comprising a shape-morphing channel (8) with an inlet (7) with a rectangular cross-section, an outlet (6) with a non-rectangular cross-section, and a plurality of different consecutive transition inner cross-sections configured and arranged to progressively force a continuous filament or tape (2), while passing therethrough, to gradually change its cross-section from a rectangular cross-section to a non-rectangular cross-section.;The present invention also relates to a method for continuous fused filament fabrication adapted to use the extrusion head of the invention.
