A speedometer device (200) is used in a straddled vehicle (100, 102) having an engine (10) and a rotating electrical machine (30) wherein the power of the engine is assisted by using the power of the rotating electrical machine. The speedometer device includes a speed display section (220) configured to display a running speed of the straddled vehicle; an assist display section (230) configured to give a notification that the engine is being assisted; and a control section (240) configured to control the notification by the assist display section. The control section causes the assist display section to give the notification over a period of time in which the engine is being assisted, and even after an end of the assistance, continue to give the notification over a predetermined period of time after the end of the assistance.
