The pattern for visualizing a conventional moiré image is often created by trial and error by hand, and it takes a lot of man-hours to realize an moiré image having an excellent appearance. The present invention extracts feature values such as grayscale values from the design design that is the source of the moire image. Taking into consideration the designation of a desired layer as a moire image, the setting of a basic pattern, and information on a moire display body, the opening / non-opening ratio of the moire pattern is set according to the feature value. By further adding the phase fluctuation amount and the pitch ratio based on this opening / non-opening ratio, it is possible to efficiently produce a moire image that is beautiful in appearance and has excellent design. Further, by systematizing such a moire pattern generation method, the manufacturing efficiency can be further improved.
