In the neural network apparatus for performing a neural network operation according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, a floating-point operation circuit configured to perform a dot product operation and an accumulation operation, and a buffer in which first accumulated data generated from the floating-point operation circuit is stored wherein the floating-point operation circuit includes: in the dot product operation and the accumulation operation, a plurality of exponent part addition operation results corresponding to each of a plurality of floating-point data pairs and an exponent value of the first accumulation data. and a plurality of mantissa multiplication operation results corresponding to each of the plurality of floating-point data pairs based on a maximum value and a mantissa part of the first accumulated data are respectively arranged and shifted and then summed.
