A device (1) for measuring vibrations of an object (11) has a base station (2) comprising a source for a measuring beam (15) and an analyser for analysing a portion of the measuring beam reflected by a surface (13) of the object (11).Furthermore, the device (1) has an unmanned floating object (3) that carries a measuring head (16) to point the measuring beam (15) at the surface (13) and to receive the portion of the measuring beam reflected from the surface (13).The unmanned flight object (3) is connected to the base station (2) via a flexible connecting cable (4),comprising an electrical conductor cable to supply the unmanned object (3) with electrical energy and a light conductor cable.The light conductor cable conducts the measuring beam (15) from the base station (2) to the measuring head (16) and the portion of the measuring beam reflected from the surface (13) from the measuring head (16) to the base station (2).
