The object of the present invention is to provide a method for determining whether or not the repaired steel and the repair method of steel are applicable.The method of repairing steel according to the present invention is a repairing method for a steel plate which has been placed on an underwater ground, and has pitted corrosion, and is a repairing steel plate 3 for closing the pitting corrosion, and the length in the circumferential direction when the steel plate is abutted against the steel material is three times or more five times or less than the maximum diameter of the pitting hole (however, when the length of 5 mm is not greater than 300 mm, it is set to 300 mm or less) to be welded to the steel material.Diagram
