A method and system for learning a pressure force applied to a countershaft brake are disclosed. The method may include, if the shift condition is satisfied, determining whether the shift to be performed is a power-off upshift; releasing a clutch disposed between the power source and the transmission when the shift to be performed is a power-off upshift; measuring a contact time until the speed of the input shaft decreases by a set speed by applying the target pressure stored in the memory to the counter shaft brake when the clutch release is completed; comparing the contact time with a set time; if the contact time is greater than the set time, correcting the target pressure according to the difference between the contact time and the set time; and storing and updating the corrected target pressure in a memory to apply the corrected target pressure to a subsequent power-on upshift.
