The amount of waste oyster shells produced in Korea is over 300,000 tons per year. Some of them are recycled as oysters, seedlings, and fertilizer raw materials, and some are buried in landfills, but the rest is left in the open. Therefore, the development of technology for recycling oyster shells has the advantage of reducing the processing cost and recycling waste resources into useful resources. Calcium carbonate changes from amorphous calcium carbonate (ACC) to three crystal forms: calcite, aragonite, and vaterite at the beginning of the reaction. Among them, vaterite-type crystals, the most unstable crystals, have the smallest crystal size (1-25㎛) and have good dispersibility because they are round. , improvement of filling properties, etc. are expected, and the physical strength, glossiness, color development or printing characteristics of the product can be improved. Therefore, the present invention relates to a method for producing vaterite-type calcium carbonate using oyster shells in a process capable of stable contact between acid and base by adding lysine.
