FIELD: working of metals.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the processing of metals by pressure, namely, to manufacture of forgings of blades of a gas turbine engine compressor, and can be used in aircraft engine building and power engineering. The method for manufacturing forgings of gas turbine engine blades made of an ortho-titanium alloy includes heating of a rod made of an ortho-titanium alloy and deformation thereof in several passes executed at a temperature exceeding the temperature of the beginning of dissolution of the hardening intermetallic ortho-phase (Ti2AlNb) of the alloy, followed by stamping. The rod is deformed by extrusion with relative deformation of at least 0.5, wherein extrusion deformation in all passes is executed in conditions of a stressed state of uneven all-round compression, extrusion deformation and the subsequent stamping are completed at a temperature of at least 1,000°C.;EFFECT: cracks in the metal of the rod are eliminated with simultaneous compaction of the metal, as well as achievement of maximum mechanical and fatigue characteristics of the alloy in the blades produced from the rod.;1 cl, 3 dwg, 1 tbl
