The invention concerns procedures for mounting a design (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) on a surface (22) of an element (2, 2a, 2b) of a typewriter or an accessory for a typewriter using 3D printing, comprising the following steps:(a) design design (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) by means of an input system (14) and/or at least partial design selection (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) from one or more templates;(b) converting the design (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) into a vector graphics or a 3D model;(c) transfer the vector graphics or 3D model to a 3D printer (6);(d) position the element (2, 2a, 2b) within a printing space (10) of the 3D printer (6) by means of a positioning and rotating device (12);(e) printing of the design (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) on the surface (22, 22a, 22b) of the element (2, 2a, 2b);where a printing head (8) of the 3D printer (6) is moved at least along a first axis of motion in x- and/or x-direction and the element (2, 2a, 2b) is rotated (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) by means of the positioning and rotating device (12) by a rotating axis (D) of the element (2, 2a, 2b); that the printing head (8) is always perpendicular to a tangential plane (T) of the area to be printed (22a) or of the point to be printed (22b) of the surface (22) of the element (2, 2a, 2b).
