Methods and apparatus for analyzing mesoscale convection systems are disclosed. A mesoscale convection system analysis method includes: identifying a luminance temperature for an infrared channel image of a satellite; extracting an MCS region corresponding to a meso-scale convective system (MCS) from among the infrared channel images by using the identified luminance temperature; determining a storm cell existing in the MCS area by overlapping the reflectivity observed through the radar with respect to the extracted MCS area; and analyzing a precipitation form of the storm cell based on the reflectivity of the storm cell.
