Techniques and circuits for wavelength monitoring and control are shown here. The exposed wavelength monitoring and control circuits and techniques have been developed to realize a multichannel optical DWDM connection using a photonic receiver that dynamically adjusts the resonance wave lengths of the Microring Drop Filter (MDF) when required. The wavelength monitoring and control circuit can provide the resonant wavelengths of several MDFs for a DWDM silicon photonic receiver with minimal power and surfaceto monitor and control the wall. In one version, the circuit for an optical receiver includes a MDF with a resonance wave length for several DWDM channels and a circuit to control and monitor the resonance wave length of the MDF in real time and in a waywhich compensates for the difference between the actual resonance wavelength of the MDF and the falling optical wavelength of the MDF.
