Disclosed in the present invention is a whole-process trace preservation method for collecting, editing, and auditing of a video file, comprising: extracting keyframes in video clip information, generating histogram data by using the keyframes, and obtaining video modification information on the basis of the histogram data; and taking timestamps as blockchain nodes, and chaining video modification information completed at different time points to form a trace chain arranged according to the timestamps, thereby achieving whole-process trace preservation for video clipping. By means of the technical solution of the present disclosure, the difficulty of whole-process trace preservation for clipping, editing, and releasing processes of a video file is solved; moreover, by using a blockchain technology, the non-tamperability and security of trace preservation information can be achieved, thereby effectively improving the security of collecting and editing in media industry.
