The present invention relates to a privacy protection compressed sensing real-time traffic monitoring method based on urban traffic. The monitoring method comprises the following steps: step S1: divide vehicle data under privacy protection into two parts, and send the two parts to two different road side units for preprocessing; step S2, in the two different road side units, respectively outsource the preprocessed vehicle data to two cloud platforms, and according to a finally expected operation result and by utilizing interactive operation between the two cloud platforms, design a data encryption execution protocol to encrypt the data; and step S3, a navigation service provider receives the encrypted data from the cloud platform, decrypts the encrypted data, and achieves estimation of an urban traffic state by means of a compressed sensing technology. According to the present invention, the vehicle data privacy protection capability can be remarkably enhanced, the data processing speed is increased, the data processing is accurate, the energy consumption required for achieving urban traffic estimation is reduced, and the time duration required for traffic estimation is shortened.
