FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neonatology, and can be used to predict the clinical course of transient tachypnea of newborns (TTN) in term infants. To this end, at the stage of the delivery room with the development of early manifestations of respiratory failure, the severity of the distress syndrome is assessed according to the Downes scale in points, Apgar score is taken into account at 1 and 5 minutes in points. Discriminant function d is then calculated using the developed formula.
