PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a computer system, and a computer program product for optimizing a scan chain wire length. An embodiment of the present invention may include obtaining root node details from a root node. Embodiments of the present invention may include optimizing the connectivity of the root node. Embodiments of the invention may include identifying the best start node and the best end node for each of the root nodes. Embodiments of the present invention may include optimizing child nodes in each of the root nodes. An embodiment of the present invention may include determining whether the wire length of the entire circulation is shorter or longer than the nearest neighbor.
