A evolution data-oriented method for correlating administrative divisions in China. The main steps are as follows: S1, structuring administrative division information over the years; S2, structuring administrative division adjustment information; S3, according to the administrative division adjustment information, determining administrative divisions related to the current year and the previous year and recording, in an administrative division-evolution correlation table, the described administrative divisions and the evolution types thereof and an evolution code of change information; S4, according to information in the administrative division-evolution correlation table, extracting records of all divisions corresponding to each piece of change information; and S5, obtaining administrative divisions and subordinate relationships thereof in an administrative division table. The evolution data-oriented method for correlating administrative divisions in China establishes a relationship between administrative divisions by beginning with evolution information, and can not only establish correlations between the administrative divisions, but also establish a change mode for each type of administrative division.
