Theoretical Consideration on Formation and Control of Inclusions in Austenite

摘要

According to the solubility product of second phase in austenite, the Ostwald ripening theory, the grain size control theory and the precipitation strengthening theory, the probability for formation and growth in austenite of the main inclusions such as manganese sulfide and aluminium oxide have been considered. The theoretically calculation results have shown that the manganese sulfide can be controlled to precipitate in austenite and to be maintained in the size of below 100 nm, while the aluminium oxide can' t all redissolve in austenite therefore its size can t be controlled to very fine by physical metallurgical process. Moreover, the probability of controlling the reheating austenite grain size by inclusions and that of precipitation strengthening by inclusions have been analyzed. The theoretically calculation results have shown that the manganese sulfide can effectively prevent the austenite grain growth and provide somewhat of precipitation strengthening effect.
