Poly vinyl acetate(PVAc)adhesives are usually used inwood finishing materials.Generally,wood material and polymer do not exhibit sufficient fire retardancy and areeasily burned.It is well known that Improvement in the fire performance of wood can be obtained through chemicaltreatments.Conventional impregnation treatment method is complicated and not cost-effective.In this study,PVAcadhesive blended with fire retardant chemicals was usedto finishing medium density board (MDF),in attemptto impart the board with flammability without other flame retardant treatment process.The flammability and surface bonding strength of decorated MDF board were evaluated.
