In 2010 more than 37 million hectares were used for organic agriculture worldwide,corresponding to 0.9％ of the total agriculturally used area of the world.Of this area,6.1 million hectares was arable land used for organic farming,with cereals and feedingstuffs accounting for more than 80 percent of the arable area.
