An innovative bascule span design for the 17th Street Causeway Bridge was used to create a signature bridge for the gateway to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The unique V-shaped piers and steel box main girders with composite exodermic deck create an aesthetically pleasing bridge with remarkable structural efficiency.
