摘要

A review of the experimental results on measurements of electric signals emitted duringrntensile failure, transversal oscillations and wave phenomena in thin fibers is presented. The specialrnexperimental systems have been devised with this aim. The electromagnetic radiation (EMR) werernrecorded by an antenna over radio range of frequencies. First, the behavior of electric component ofrnEMR emitted during tensile fracture of the silica glass fibers and the influence of scale size arerndiscussed. Next, the electrical method for obtaining the nonlinear stress-strain curves for the fibersrnby means of registration of both frequencies of the fiber transversal oscillations (as an elasticrnstring) and elongations has been developed. Also, the method for the wave velocities and dynamicrnYoung’s modulus determination using the EMR-effect has been suggested and applied to therncopolymer and nylon fibers of variable diameters.
