1.Introduction The field of nanotechnology represents an exciting and rapidly expanding research area that crosses the borders between physics, chemistry, life and engineering sciences. Nanowires, nanobelts, nanorods... Are a new class of one-dimensional (1 D) nanostructures that have been attracting a great research interest in the last few years due to their unique properties and potential to revolutionize broad areas of nanotechnology[1]. Nanocircuits built using semiconductor nanowires were declared a "breakthrough in science" by Science magazine. Nature magazine published a report claiming that "Nanowires... It does not matter what you can call them, they are the hottest property in nanotechnology". There is no doubt that ID nanostructures will be the new focal point of research in the next decades [2].
