摘要

In the process of conducting studies to define emissions from the natural gas industry, newrnmethods have been developed for measuring and reducing natural gas losses from leaks,rninefficient fuel utilization, venting and flaring. These studies have demonstrated that the industryrncould significantly increase earnings by targeting opportunities to reduce natural gas losses andrnthereby reduce emissions. Also, there is an opportunity to benefit from greenhouse gas credits.rnThe key findings of these studies are summarized and a systematic approach is presented that canrnbe implemented at natural gas facilities to identify, measure and mitigate greenhouse gasrnemissions, increase earnings and qualify for GHG credits.
