Hybrid electric vehicles push the envelop of OBD monitoring requirements. Each hybrid vehicle is unique and introduces new technology that does not conform within the pre-defined OBD legislation. Each system and component within the hybrid vehicle needs to be individually evaluated to determine its direct or indirect impact on emissions to establish its monitoring requirements.
