This work presents the results of research into the influence of pressure uniformity and rewetting on waterrnremoval in a press section, as well as studies that have been carried out using new materials, design structures, andrnnon-woven components to improve the dewatering potential of press fabrics. This research has lead to improvedrndesign of press felts that can achieve enhanced water removal through improved pressure uniformity and the use ofrnanti-rewetting technology.
