摘要

The aim of this study was to examine the acute effects of acupuncture compared with sham acupuncture, with respect to the relief of palpitation and the reduction in the number of palpitation attacks. A patient-blinded, randomized, controlled clinical trial was performed, including 215 patients. Abdominal acupuncture group were 104 patients, sham acupuncture group were 103 patients. Both of two groups were given medication. The differences in heart rate before and after acupuncture showed a mean reduction of 76.23 beats per min in the abdominal acupuncture group, 88.35 beats per min in the sham group. The total ECG efficiency of abdominal acupuncture group (87.5%) is higher than the sham acupuncture group (75.73%). There are significant differences showed in the relief of palpitation before and after treatment in both groups. The result shows that abdominal acupuncture was better than sham acupuncture in palpitation relief, reduction of heart rate and ECG efficient in patients.
