摘要

In order to maintain the system reliability, it is necessary to manage ancillary services efficiently. Frequency regulation is one such ancillary service. To regulate the frequency efficiently it is necessary to maintain a balance between the demand and the supply in real time. This paper presents a design for Automatic Generation Controller (AGC) by making use of Deviation Settlement Mechanism. The controller has been designed for a two area test system consisting of four generators each. The above model has been simulated using MATLAB/Simulink software. Also the effect of the new CERC (Central Electricity Regulatory Commission) regulation (Notification 132 dated 6th Jan 2014), as per which if the deviation of the power generated from the schedule should not be more than 12 per cent, has been demonstrated in this paper.
