摘要

The purpose of this paper is to use genetic algorithm to optimize the solar cell comb shaped grids, so as to minimize the total grid related losses, namely: series resistance and shadowing losses. Minimizing such losses should lead to improved solar cell efficiencies. We have varied the height, width and number of fingers of the grids within the genetic algorithm in order to find the optimal parameters. More than 5% reduction in losses was predicted with the optimized grid dimensions.
