With today's hardware (Network Analyzers), the Direct Impedance Method provides better accuracy, convenience and at lower cost over other methods such as the Physical Load Capacitor method. However, a lot of crystal engineers still ask frequently, "Where is the Physical Load Capacitor?" This paper addresses how and why the Direct Impedance Method is better than the other measurement methods.
