摘要

The aim of this survey was to define accurately, which angular opening of the luminance meter had to be used to measure adaptation luminance in urban areas. In order to do this, we developed an experiment so as to test some observers' reactions facing a stimuli, under variable luminance levels. The tests show that, given a certain adaptation luminance, the visual performance does not change with the apparent diameter of the circle limiting this luminance. These results, which we will go into more detail, seem to suggest that the eye adaptation is done immediately around the object to be observed, and that the sight keeness varies little according to distant surroundings of the target. We also noticed that the trend of visual performance reduces with age.
