摘要

Wind direction of sea surface is one feature of wind field detection. SAR imagesrninclude information of wind direction of sea surface. A method to detect wind direction of searnsurface named the maximum correlation coefficient method is presented in this paper throughrnshallow underwater topography and its SAR image. It can be done in the following three steps:rnfirstly, to calculate the simulation SAR images in different wind directions through shallowrnunderwater topography and SAR image simulation model which is built on SAR imagingrnmechanism of shallow underwater topography; secondly, to calculate the maximum correlationrncoefficients between simulation SAR images in different wind directions and real SAR image;rnlastly, to find wind direction through searching the maximum correlation coefficient. In thernpaper, we analyze three scenes of SAR images obtained in different time to get wind direction inrntheir imaging time. These analyses can testify the feasibility of the maximum correlationrncoefficient method. In addition, the paper compares precision of wind direction detectionrnachieved by SAR and by scatterometer.
