摘要

The ecologic nature of perception, purposive behavior and intelligence is considered, from the point of view of computational neuroscience. In particular, the analysis is focused on the concept of internal representation of the external space and the computational mechanisms necessary for building such representations in the cortical machinery, in a coordinate-free way. The suggestion is made that this approach could be useful in biomorphic sensor systems which are calibrated through a self-organizing process.
