摘要

This paper presents a case study of one organization's experience of introducing safer patient handling. It takes a practical look at some of the successes and pitfalls in the early stages of changing attitudes and behaviours. Change in large organizations is recognized as being complex and time consuming, and a participative approach essential for lasting results. Introducing safer patient handling is acknowledged as an incremental change process rather than declaring an organization to be "no-lift".
