Many of today's competitive manufacturers are lending more attention to their strategic planning. It is often here where the organizatinal vison and disection are rehashed and refocused. As more and more organizations are choosing to strengthen their core competency areas by dedicating resources to the activities which they do best, greater demand for subcontracted supplier services are the result. These suppliers represent the external logistics of the process cycle. Henceforth, tighter performance standards aee driving lead-time to be an increasingly precious commodity and more spohisticated to manage.
