Businesses are not dealt simple tasks in today's markets. It used to be enough just to convert raw material into quality goods. The marketplace today requires much more insgiaht and underatanding into not only the customer need, but into the nucleus of the organization itself--knowing your comany's strengths and weaknesses and planning to capialize on them. Companies that do not have a detailed plan for success and do not execulte it as well as review and update it frequently, are only as good as the leader of that company (on a good day). Some may conclude this precarious position appropriate while others may question the real health of an organization with only its leader as its fuel for long term survival. Unfortunately there are may organizations that do not mature beyond building a company around one individual. Leaders--real leaders are aware of this responsibility to organization and establish appropriate performance measurements, infrastructure and emprovement through delegation. Delegation in today's market takes on many faces.
