摘要

The Australian fire engineering process is well developed and includes all necessary components required for the development of performance based fire safety designs. However, in consideration of the issues outlined above, it is believed that a combination of the detailed Australian process for developing and verifying Alternative Solutions and the Swedish requirement for documentation of fire safety design solutions and strategy would provide an useful tool to prevent inconsistencies in the fire engineered design and making sure that the fire safety systems are installed and maintained as intended in the original fire safety design. A structured fire safety strategy document with fire safety drawings would also significantly assist at future alterations and additions to an existing building with a performance based fire safety strategy. It is important however that the fire safety strategy document is kept up to date through the life time of the building and is made readably available to the Fire Brigades and other fire engineers involved in alterations and additions in the future.
