摘要

In order to reduce large-amplitude vibration of stay cables, new damper with high damping rubber bearing was developed for medium scale cable stayed bridge, of which cable is relatively low flexural rigidity but high suppression of rain-wind and traffic induced vibration. The design scheme of optimal damper adopted empirical design equations and complex analysis method to find out economic damper design parameters achieving maximum damping capacity under the high damping rubber with some stiffness effects. Field test was performed to verify the improvements of damping capacity and design scheme. The high damping rubber with relatively low stiffness seems suitable components for the design of medium scale cable structures.
