This is addressed to introduce some new design concepts for a Multi-scenario Sample Return Mission to Mars under ESA's Aurora Programme. The interest of a sample return mission is very high for any Space Programme aimed to Mars exploration. A multi-scenario mission, which would collect samples from several locations on Mars, would be of highest interest, as it would represent more advantages to learn from different points of Mars. Such a mission requires nowadays a large and complex vehicle able to fulfil various hops in Mars and return samples to Earth. In this paper it is introduced the use of in-situ resources as the best solution for this kind o mission. The mission objectives are defined and analysed, and it is discussed the selection of a spacecraft composed by two vehicles: Mars orbiter and Mars Lander. The landing sites have been chosen for it's scientific interest, and this chosen sites are used to better understand the requirements of an In-Situ Resources Utilisation, ISRU, rocket engine. The performance characteristics of the CO_2-metal rocket engine is defined, showing the advantage of the Mg-CO_2 rocket engine for this mission. Finally, for a second stage of the ascent vehicle, several propulsion concepts where discussed, finally choosing an ammonia arc-jet ionic thrusters.
