Reversible variable-length codes has been adopted by H.263+ and MPEG-4 because of its efficient error resilient capabilities. It shows more advantages than some codewords used in present such as Huffman codes and B2 codes. By apply adaptive thoughts a novel symmetrical reversible variable-length codes-Cost evaluating symmetrical reversible variable-length codes was proposed which can overcome the limitation of Takishima algorithm. Finally, the theoretical bounds of the codewords is explained by comparing the hanmming distances of these codes.
