摘要

Studies in the past have shown that the autoregressive (AR) modelling method is effective in the detection of gear tooth cracking. This paper presents a technique for the detection of gear tooth pitting using the instrumental variable autoregressive (IVAR) modelling method. Examples of applying the technique to the rig test data and in-flight helicopter gearbox vibration data are presented. The results show that the IVAR modelling method can be used effectively and is a viable supplement to the traditional residual signal method in the detection of gear tooth pitting.
