A continuous emission monitoring system (CEMS) used in some thermal power plant for monitoring sulfur dioxide content in industrial smoke is presented. It is a distributed measurement and control system based on industrial computer as main control unit and ADAM module as data collector and controller. The system hardware structure and the software design are introduced.
