摘要

This paper will discuss the research towards a new and innovative approach towards sustainable bridge construction. Close examination in regards to considerations made during the development of the design philosophy as well as the construction process, in order to ensure its feasibility beyond the conceptual stage and into practical field applications, will be made. The difficulties and challenges faced during the experimental testing of hybrid FRP-UHPC beams will be explored. In particular, systems developed to prevent debonding at material interfaces as well as to enhance the performance of the beams will be evaluated, The lessons learned from this continuing research will greatly benefit the present knowledge base in regards to the design of hybrid structural members in current and future works.
