摘要

Minimum conveying velocity or saltation velocity is one of the most important parameters required for the design/optimisation of pneumatic conveying systems. Various attempts have been made in the past to relate the minimum conveying velocity with particle properties, pipeline configurations and conveying conditions. In this paper, based on eleven recommended correlations, the influence of particle properties, pipeline configurations and conveying conditions on minimum conveying velocity is evaluated and compared. The limitations and contradictions of these correlations also are explored and demonstrated.
